The weather was looking bleak – it was absolutely pouring when I left Brisbane, but up in the mountains behind Mapelton, we were in the clouds and it didn’t fall heavy at all. I smiled to myself on the drive up, knowing that Berni and Simon’s larger than life personalities would not let a bit of rain get in the way of what I knew would be a beautiful day. After a few k’s on an unsealed road winding up the mountain, I was in stitches when I saw the signs that had been left to set the mood of the day! The wedding was planned to have a lunch reception with a garden party setting. There were games on the lawn planned, including giant pick-up sticks and quoits, which couldn’t happen, but what did happen instead was rather beautiful to see – a very intimate and cosy wedding unfolded, with people happily gathered inside.
The amazing venue, Coolabine Ridge is online HERE!
The food & service was stunning, you can see more from Elliots Fine Foods
