Ange & Andrew

“Great news… we will Wed!” was the message received around a week prior to the wedding. The wedding was to take place around Batlow, the home of Andrew’s Grandad. There were bushfires in the area and the original venue for the ceremony was razed to the ground. The reception venue in Batlow was no longer available either as it was being used as a distribution centre for emergency supplies. But not too far away sat a cute country hall that had become available due to a cancellation. Gilmore Hall. Ceremony and reception venue all in one. Perfect!

Angela is my cousin and I was stoked to be asked to photograph her wedding. I still remember the day she was born. Grandma told us to go play up near the orange tree (far from the house and my labouring Aunt!). She’s the youngest of four girls and her eldest sister is closer to my age. As a fellow ‘youngest child’ I can only think that the stereotype characteristics of youngest children only work for the first three kids, before it gets mixed up… can anyone confirm? I’m a third child I watched Ange move gracefully throughout her day – stress-free, classy af and down-to-earth. I was impressed with the time and care she took with helping everyone get dressed before getting her own gown on. She didn’t complain about a thing despite all the last minute changes. And it was hot. Really bloody hot, and she didn’t carry on about that either.

Ange, thank you for having me photograph your wedding. I’m so happy for you and Andrew and I know you’ve got a beautiful lot of friends and family that will keep your love and life together, strong and supported.
